Case Study 3 — “Digital Rights on Paper, Barriers in Practice”
At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the Casebook on AI and Gender Empowerment was unveiled by the IndiaAI Mission in partnership with UN Women. Parul Madan and Alisha Butala contributed the YASHODA AI chapter, examining the initiative’s work in advancing AI literacy, strengthening cyber resilience, and enabling informed digital participation across diverse institutional and community ecosystems.
The casebook presents YASHODA AI as a women-led AI literacy and digital-safety programme focused on practical awareness, safer digital habits, rights, and agency.

Workshop Design & Curriculum
YASHODA AI workshops tailor AI learning to women’s diverse roles—students, policewomen, homemakers, and professionals. Through accessible concepts, ethical framing, and multilingual delivery, the curriculum makes AI practical, responsible, and relevant.
Expert Facilitation
YASHODA AI sessions are led by AI, cybersecurity, legal, education, and social-science practitioners. Jargon-free storytelling and practical examples make the sessions credible, inclusive, ethical, and closely connected to everyday life.
Live Demonstrations
Hands-on demonstrations cover practical tasks such as spotting deepfakes, checking suspicious links, and using AI for study, work, and business. The approach builds confidence by showing AI as visible, useful, and manageable.
Feedback & Iteration
YASHODA AI evolves through participant feedback and emerging AI risks. Beyond the workshops, the AI Sakhi network provides peer support, safety guidance, and learning resources, helping turn one-time sessions into a sustained community journey.
